I grew up in a Christian home in Franklinton, La. I attended the local First Baptists Church and heard the gospel as far back as I can remember. I made a profession of faith at the age of eight. However, I didn’t really understand the impact of sin and the power of Grace until much later in life. After high school, I attended LSU on a football scholarship but the biggest win I had was meeting my wife, Marylyn. We were married in 1972 and have now been married 47 years. We have three children, Chris (and Kristina), Catherine and Miller (Molly) and one grandchild, Ellie (3).
We moved to Birmingham in 1979 and heard the word in a new and revealing way at Briarwood Presbyterian Church. We made great friends and really began to grow in the word and faith. We returned to Baton Rouge in 1989 where we attended the Chapel on The Campus until we moved to Christ Covenant in 2013.
I retired from the Communication Industry in 2016 and started work here at Christ Covenant Church shortly thereafter. I keep up with the bills, payroll and try to keep our building in working order. Marylyn and I enjoy traveling. Visiting our son in Colorado and spending time with our large extended family (Marylyn has six siblings and I have three). We follow LSU sports and Marylyn is a painter.
